This course offers healthcare professionals involved in managing patients with acute oncology indications a comprehensive understanding of the acute events arising from cancer and its treatments. An Overview of Acute Oncology & Services: Introduction to acute oncology and its critical role in cancer care.
New Cancer Presentations, including CUP/MUO: Managing cases of cancer of unknown primary (CUP) and malignancy of unknown origin (MUO).
Neutropenic Sepsis: Identification, prevention, and management of this life-threatening complication.
Metastatic Spinal Cord Compression: Recognition and management of this oncological emergency to prevent serious outcomes.
Chemotherapy-Induced Diarrhoea: Understanding the causes and management of diarrhoea caused by chemotherapy.
Immunotherapy Toxicities: Navigating adverse effects unique to immunotherapy cancer treatments.

Audience

This course is specifically designed for registered health professionals involved in the care of individuals with acute oncology indications, regardless of the healthcare setting. It is also open to anyone with a general interest in acute oncology, providing valuable insights and knowledge applicable across various roles and environments.

Delivery Format

This course will be delivered as an interactive workshop. Our workshops involve a variety of activities, including case studies, group discussions, polls and role play. You will be able to attend the course virtually or in person.

Our prices vary based on how you will be attending the course. This course is fully funded for staff from the Velindre Cancer Service. If you are not Velindre Cancer Service staff, the costs will be as follows:
