The aim of this module is to enable learners to develop their skills in the assessment and management of people with malignant wounds. There are various reasons why malignant wounds occur and they have a major impact on the individual’s quality of life and their caring environment. Individuals with malignant wounds provide complex clinical challenges for health care professionals and often there is a dearth of research to support clinical practice. This module will provide pragmatic advice supported by the underlying theoretical concepts which aims to provide the ‘why’ and ‘how’ for clinicians, resulting in the healthcare professional having a more confident approach when caring for these individuals.
